Drive through testing centers are popping up all over West Philly. I photograph one of the first ones in Philly back in March and it was a big, strange deal — they were just figuring it out at the time and the hospital was excited to have me come by because they wanted to share photos of their layout with other hospitals in other places that were still trying to figure things out. And that’s something that’s still happening. I guess one silver lining to this is that the virus hasn’t hit everywhere at the same time with the same intensity and doctors and nurses and hospital administrators here have been able to share the lessons they’ve learned with people in places where it hasn’t erupted yet and they’re sitting, like we were in April, just waiting and wondering. I’m so grateful that we have these people.
